NATIONAL CRIMINAL DATABASE

Includes two (2) enhanced databases which provide approximately one (1) billion criminal records. Because data can vary greatly between private data bases, Amerisearch has combined the two largest databases in order to reduce the opportunity for a missed record. No databases are ever as complete as direct county court search,  however a two database system will help provide a more comprehensive review of any potential criminal activity over a single data base system. These database’s are updated every 30 days and contain historical data that may been redacted from county criminal records or State Criminal Repositories. Also included are, ” All State Sex Offender Registries” and” OFAC Terrorist Watch List.”

Note: Each Criminal record found in ABA’s data base must be verified by a court research in accordance with the FCRA (Federal Credit Reporting Act) in order to verify completeness and accuracy and the most up to date status.

SOCIAL SECURITY ADDRESS TRACE AND VERIFICATION

Provides address history using the SSN through social security administration number. This product compares and verifies the accuracy of the provided Social Security Number to the individual candidates information.  The system automatically corrects, when necessary, the candidate’s information and then provides the most current and past residences, which reduces turnaround time and saves your company money.

COUNTY CRIMINAL COURT SEARCH (BASED ON 7 0R 10 YEARS OF PAST RESIDENCY )

Felony and Misdemeanor research is automatically conducted on any and all counties of residency regardless of State or number of residences for the past 7 years. Residency is based on current address plus all records drawn from the Social Security Address Trace (Trac). Additional addresses within this 7 year time period may be added by you or by the candidate.

EMPLOYER WORK HISTORY

Verification of employment- one at a time. Additional options include, verification for three, five or seven years of work history. The choice is yours. Questions include confirmation of name, work history, salaries, if eligible for re-hire and more.  ”GAP Finder” (see information below), included at no additional charge.

DOT EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATION

To help our transportation companies be in compliance with D.O.T, Amerisearch has now developed a D.O.T compliant,  previous employer  reference verification product in 2 parts.

Part 1, includes standard application questions such as:

    • Start Date
    • End Date
    • Title
    • Salary
    • Reason for Leaving
    • Eligibility for Rehire

  • Verifier Name
  • Title & Number

It also includes additional questions such as:

  • Number of accidents in which driver was ticketed?
  • While with you, was he/she involved in any DOT recordable accidents?

Part 2 includes, the standard D.O.T drug and alcohol Questionnaire. This document is available in the” Docs and Forms” section of our system, for easy access and upon completion may be attached to the drivers  report by fax or by your computers download  system.

This included 7 question required by DOT and any supporting documentation which we will electronically linked to the Individuals encrypted reports giving you easy access. All previous employer information will be available on the background report. In addition, all adverse  documentation, such are previous driving records or accident reports etc., will be hyperlinked (electronically attached in PDF form) to the drivers report for access through our encrypted system at any time. These secured documents may be retrieved from our system on screen or printed out for DOT, DOD audit or for other review purposes, at any time.

*Please note that these are live interview not a data base which reduces errors and gives you the most accurate information.

EDUCATION VERIFICATION

Verification of the highest attained Degree, graduation verification, years of attendance and more. This product may be linked to “GAP Finder” for quicker verification results.

FEDERAL COURT RESEARCH

Provides a search that would return offenses that are tried in a Federal court such as drug trafficking, embezzlement, bank robbery or tax evasion. This product will provide details such as case number, date of filing, charges and the current status of the case. Please note, that Federal information is not contained in any National Criminal Databases. Federal courts are divided by State and then district. A statewide search at one low price is offered for the Federal District Courts throughout the specified States. The standard Federal Regional search is 7 years; however this can be enhanced to 10 years.

CREDIT REPORTS (EMPLOYMENT PURPOSES ONLY)

Enhances traditional employment decisions-making tools such as applications, jobs testing, interviews etc. by:

  • Quickly verifying the information received from the application and other sources.
  • Expands on information such as civil court filings, bankruptcy, collections etc.
  • Reveals potential conflicting information, which requires additional information or clarification.
  • Providing information on historical financial responsibility information that may have an impact on job performance.

SINGLE COUNTY CRIMINAL SEARCH

Provides criminal history reports from all US counties. Our team of experienced investigators researches and reports back to our clients the most accurate records in our industry.

CIVIL COURT SEARCHES

Searches for the upper and/or lower court records provide a report of any civil litigation. Results include name of plaintiff, defendant, date filed, type of action and current status. The standard search includes the last 7 years but a 10 year search is also offered. Please note that cases may only be verified by name and address, but there is no date of birth in civil records.

GLOBAL REPORTS

FBI Fugitive List, US BIS Denied Person List and Ineligible Firms List from World Bank, Interpol, Most Wanted, State Department Exclusions, OSFI-Canadian Sanction List, UN Consolidated Sanctions List, Politically Exposed Persons List and European Union Terrorism List.

PROFESSIONAL LICENSE VERIFICATION

Verification of professional license(s) held, licensure status, expiration date and other information provided by the licensing agency.

MEDICAL SANCTIONS, MEDICAL/DENTAL

Medical sanction information is searched to find histories on individuals and entities in the healthcare field. Reports on disciplinary actions; including exclusions, debarments, probation and letters of reprimand. The search includes information provided by Federal agencies as well as more than 800 licensing and certified agencies located in all 50 states. The search also references the Office of Foreign Asset Control, SDN and Blocked Persons List.

MILITARY SERVICE RECORD VERIFICATION

Verification based on DD214 information; includes date of service, honorable/dishonorable discharge, service branch, level of service and more. All verifications are completed direct with the Military which may take up to 4 weeks.

MOTOR VEHICLE REPORT (DL and CDL)

Provides fast,( most state are instant), consistent reporting with direct access to driving records. Each report contains the dates and descriptions of any violations, suspensions and/or revocations. Amerisearch can also provide a 10 year MVR records at additional costs. Please note that additional State fees apply.

CANADIAN CRIMINAL SEARCH

Maintains a cross- Canada database of charges including, personal identifiers, suspects, addresses, police involvement and criminal convictions. NCIC accesses this database for anti-Terrorism as well as International Law enforcement. Records are compiled with a report documenting the offense date, location, violation and sentencing information. Records go back to 1953 and there are no restrictions or limitations on past offenses.

ADVANCED CANDIDATE REVIEW

Amerisearch will send one of our investigators to visit and interview a candidate in their home, office or convenient location. Our interview process often provides a unique perspective, as we have found that candidates are more willing to reveal clues about themselves in a familiar environment as compared with your direct business setting. With our system you will have the opportunity to create questions you would like our interviewers to ask and the results will be posted to our on line system. In addition our system has the ability upload photographs that can be taken during the interview which are then available for view.

STATEWIDE CRIMINAL SEARCHES (non-database)

States with special prices: Alabama, Arizona, Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.

A county level search is conducted in all upper level and some municipal courts within the requested state. Results will include all felony and misdemeanor filed as maintained within each court. Additional information may include disposition date, final date, sentencing information, location and any additional verifiers listed on the docket.

SOCIAL NETWORK RESEARCH

A thorough search of the most popular Social Network service sites is conducted. Thousands of these media outlets exist. Our system initially scans all known sites and if there is nothing reported, we then focus more in-depth on the primaries,
including the following:

Currently more and more hiring institutions have been asking to review theses websites in an attempt to avoid hiring sexual predators
or those who exhibit inappropriate behavior that is not suitable to the work environment.
Due to the nature of these sights, there is no fool proof search, there is no guarantee that complete, full accuracy has been obtained.

PROFESSIONAL REFERENCE CHECK

Our trained professional staff will conduct telephone interviews to obtain the information you request from the reference. Amerisearch believes that it is important that we ask the questions our clients want answered. Therefore, a feature of this report allows you to provide up to 10 pre-established questions. Both the questions and answers will appear on the report.

WORKERS COMPENSATION

This search will help identify previous conditions or injuries, enabling an employer to make reasonable accommodations and participate in applicable state second injury funds. Most states require a signed release.
N.B. It is a violation of State and Federal Law to obtain and subsequently use this information, prior to making any offer of employment.

ELECTRONIC ATTACHMENTS

All documents will be scanned and electronically attached to the candidate’s report. This provides easy access to any documents should they be required for audit and review purposes.

GAP FINDER

Provides a more comprehensive method of reviewing discrepancies within the employment date records. The company sets GAP
tolerances and will be alerted to any differences between what was reported by the candidate and actual dates of employment.

ONLINE APPLICATION FORM

This feature makes it easier for employers to receive the candidate’s background information. The candidate is given a password and directed to a hyperlink. The candidate fills out the information online and is provided with an online release which is then attached electronically. Upon completion an e-mail is sent to the administrator providing notice that an application has been submitted for a background check. Upon approval of our client, a second e-mail will be sent alerting the administrator the screening has been completed and is ready for review. The report includes a copy of the release to facilitate compliance audits..

TURN AROUND TIMES:

Average currently is 1.75 days
All National Databases, Social Security Address History, Credit Reports, Global and Motor Vehicle search results are usually instantaneous. County Court, Statewide Criminal Searches and other non database results are normally 1-3 days depending on the State. However, since we are at the mercy of court it may take a few days longer. Employment history, education and references are traditionally one day, though they may take up to three days.
Procedures:

PLACING AND REVIEWING ORDERS:

  • The system is available to one or multiple users at different or the same locations. Authority and/or restrictions may be applied as the administrator requires.
  • Logon and order directly through the encrypted system via www.amerisearchbga.com.
  • Alternatively, information may be inputted by the candidate via our Invitation System or Applicant Check system. Both our
  • If not using the online ordering; orders may be placed by faxing information and a cover sheet with the applicable information and the candidate’s release to 440.992.8491.
  • Authorization/release forms are available in the system under “docs and forms”. These may be printed out at any time. These documents maybe attached to the report as stated under Electronic Attachments.
  • A-la-carte services are available. Any items may be ordered separately or added to enhance a recommended package. These additions may be made at any point during the background check.
  • Finalized reports may be viewed in the web reports section or faxed.

RESOLVING FALSE POSITIVES:

  •  Any criminal positive results from any source go through review for additional confirmation by Amerisearch Background Alliance prior to being released to the client .

ADVERSE RESULTS AND ADVERSE ACTION NOTICES:

  • Confirmed criminal finding’s does not necessarily have to result in withdrawing a offer to the candidate. Corporate policy and procedures govern this action. However:
  • If criminal records results require withdraw or termination of an employee the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires that a Pre- Adverse Action letter (provided on our system) be sent to the candidate or employee. Additionally you must include a copy of their report, which will include an attachment of the individual’s rights under FCRA rules.
  • The Pre-Adverse Action letters will direct the candidate to call Amerisearch Background Alliance within 3 to 5 business days to any disputed any findings on our report. Amerisearch Background Alliance will research and correct any false information, notify all sources of any inaccuracies and report the corrected information back to the candidate and client upon completion of the investigation.
  • If no corrections are required with the 3 to 5 day time frame, or if corrections do not result in a clear or suitable report, a Final Adverse Action Letter (provide on our system)is to be issued by you or Amerisearch Background Alliance.
