Our History

The founders of Amerisearch Background Alliance (ABA) began their careers in the Trust and Banking, Law, along with the Casino, and Motor Coach Industries. Collectively, they witnessed that the screening procedures in these industries had many short comings which could easily be overcome. Through discussions and meetings with screening consultants and the Professional Background Screeners Association (PBSA), Amerisearch was formed in early 2006, with its mission to provide an easy to use comprehensive pre-employment information system, using screening methods that exceed the requirements governing consumer reporting agencies including the: Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) as well as, all other industry required Federal Acts and Laws, along with those rules of all fifty states, territories and the District of Columbia.

Additionally, experienced higher educated personnel were hired to provide detailed research to serve our client’s needs. While innovative systems and technology was implemented to reduce turnaround times and improve HR/Security department’s efficiencies. 


Where We Are Today

Today, Amerisearch is a woman owned business with approximately 5000 clients located in North America, Europe, and Africa; ranging from 5 to 10,000 employees and perform background screening services that range from a few a year to 50 a day.

We are a certified member of the Ohio River Valley Women’s Business Enterprise Council, an accredited member of the Professional Background Screeners Association as well as members of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the United Motor Coach Association (UMA), Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), and the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors (PHCC). Amerisearch is also registered designated agent for Homeland Security’s E-verify system and approved by the State Department for international searches via Privacy Shield.

What We Do

Amerisearch provides a confidential portal that permits the applicant access to fill out the application information via our encrypted portal invitation system; which, also allows for the integration of many popular ATS systems making placing orders on the system less time consuming for our clients and their applicants. This unique system is designed to reduce our client’s operational workload and provides them access to the system online at any time.

Before our clients receive each report with an adverse or negative result, the report is thoroughly reviewed by our compliance staff and when necessary additional due diligence is conducted by our researchers prior to the release of final results. By employing this method, we provide maximum accuracy on all results.

Background check components including criminal, civil, federal, as well as previous professional references, employer and education verifications, social media reports, drug screenings, etc., may vary using multiple packages per our client’s specification in order to ease the ordering process.
